Ms. Markey's Mile
By Jamie Fitzpatrick
Â
Ms. Markey introduced the mile because there are no sports on at the moment. It is a great way to get exercise and keep a distance at the same time. A group of boys from Ms. Bradshawâs 6th class went over to Sonesta where it would take place a week a before to measure out a mile. One lap around Sonesta was 0.8 kilometres and a mile is 1.6 kilometres so you would have to run around Sonesta twice. The aim of it was to have one mile every month and to try and beat your time each month. All the classes had been training for the mile for P.E with their own classes. When the day came around, everyone was ready and excited. The route you had to run was marked out very clearly and it was easy to know which way to go. Overall, everyone enjoyed it and will be looking forward to the next one every month.
