P.E.

Third Class Sports Day

Outdoor Summer Soccer

Cricket

This week we started cricket training with Malahide Cricket Club. We played a game called 'Continuous Cricket'. It was great fun! We discovered we have some secret cricket stars among us. Maybe you might try playing cricket over the summer? We have two more weeks of cricket on 22nd and 29th of June.

Hurling Fun

Orienteering and map reading - Easter Egg Hunt

Football

A big thank you to St. Sylvester's coaching team who are back again to help us improve our GAA skills over the next four weeks.

Dance

We had great fun exploring the strand of 'dance' for the past few weeks. We focused on creative dance as well as traditional dance. We learned well known dances such as 'Shoe the donkey', 'The siege of Ennis' and 'The Walls of Limerick'. We also learned so pop dances to The Jackson Five 'Blame it on the Boogie' and Dj Casper 'Cha Cha Slide'.

We then joined forces with the other third classes for a giant ceili in the hall to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We had a great time.

Change of day

In order to facilitate First Confession rehearsals, we have rearranged our PE day from Tuesday to Monday for the next few weeks. We will return to normal days after the confession in early February. Thank you

Uni-hoc

We have been learning the rules of uni-hoc and how to stop and pass the puc to each other. We discovered it was a bit harder than we first thought!

Athletics

This month, we have had great fun learning all about athletics. We have learned about 'false starts' and what 'on your marks, get set, go' actually means. We have practised relay races using batons, had a go at throwing indoor javelins, practised our sprinting and much more.

Learning to 'solo' the ball with the help of St Sylvester's GAA coaching team
