  • 🎅Special Christmas Visitor🎅

    Tue 21 Dec 2021

There was great excitement yesterday as at around 9:15a.m. when  the children heard some Christmas tunes on an unusual instrument! We had a very special visitor from local piper Joe Meade whose daughter Holly is in 5th class. Joe was joined by the main man himself!

Santa Claus came to visit PJP! Santa visited all of the classrooms and had a word with all the classes and he even had a few special shout outs! Santa had a special surprise for all the boys and girls courtesy of the PA - A lovely box of sweets and a ticket for an online Panto! Thanks to the PA for this wonderful Christmas gift.

Santa reminded all the children about the importance of being good for their parents and being kind to siblings over the next few days and even made a few requests for snacks on Christmas Eve! We're sure he will be well looked after in all the PJP Family Homes!

Santa was keen to visit Ms. Bradshaw’s class to thank them for all their hard work on the SVP Helping Hands Appeal. He was very impressed to see so many Helping Hands on our tree!

  • 🕯 Advent Assembly 🕯

    Fri 17 Dec 2021

Today we had a very special school Advent Assembly.

Father Martin and Ronan (the Parish Pastoral Worker) came to visit our Christmas Foyer and we heard some different prayers and readings.

Father Martin lit the candles on our Advent Wreath and told us the meaning of the different coloured candles.

As a special treat Ashleen, our school secretary provided us with some lovely Christmas Music. Students from different year levels read and gave some school updates about Green Schools, The Amber Flag and the SVP Helping Hands Appeal.

It was a lovely assembly and helped to put us all in good mood for Christmas.

A big thank-you to Ms. Kieran for organising it.

  • 🤝 SVP Helping Hands Appeal Update 🤝

    Thu 16 Dec 2021

Hello! As you all know, every class in the school has been doing a St. Vincent De Paul project.

My Class (Ms Bradshaw’s 6th Class) and every class in the school made hampers and we wrote Christmas cards for families in need with the help of Ms. Markey.

And, on behalf of me, my class, Ms. Markey and our teacher Ms. Bradshaw we would like to thank everyone who brought something in for the hampers.

Last Thursday Ms. Markey and other teachers and volunteers brought the hampers and Christmas cards to the families in need.

So, thank you for bringing items in for the hampers. You have really made a difference this Christmas.

By Clodagh O’Brien, 6th Class, Ms. Bradshaw, Room 7

A special thank you to Ms. Bradshaw and her class for all their hard work on our first ever helping Hands Appeal. The hampers were simply amazing! The families who received them were so grateful. A sincere thank you to all who contributed and made this possible. Well done to Clodagh who spoke so well at our recent online School Assembly and updated everyone on how everything went.

A big threat to our oceans is plastic pollution,

We need to find a permanent solution!

Our marine friends depend on us,

Saying ‘What a shame!’ is not enough.

So much life in a deep blue space,

It’s up to us to protect this place!

The children from Ms. Millar’s sixth class took part in the National Gallery’s Jack B Yeats School Art Competition. The children attended an online lesson about his portraits that are on display in the National Gallery and then took on the challenge of creating a collaborative piece inspired by the work of Jack B Yeats. • 🤝 Helping Hands - SVP Christmas Appeal 🤝

    Fri 03 Dec 2021

This year we are launching a very special appeal for the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul. Every class in the school will be assigned a family in need of assistance and asked to bring in different items including treats, household items and non-perishable food.

Ms. Bradshaw's 6th Class will facilitate the appeal. They will introduce each class to their assigned family and outline the family's needs.

Everyone is asked to bring in one item from the class shopping list. Everyone who brings in their item will trace around their handprint and these special handprints will be used to decorate our Helping Hands Christmas Tree. We ask that items are brought to school by the 13th of December as Ms. Markey and some of our staff members will be delivering these items directly to the families that week.

Thank you in advance for your support with this appeal.

Thank you also to Andrew from The Village Garden Centre for providing us with a beautiful tree to mark the appeal!
