“Draw your hero” is an art competition designed to recognise the many different professions and people who are working tirelessly to bring Ireland through the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is open to young people aged 6-14 years of age and the closing date for entries is June 3rd. Full Details can be found here: https://drawyourhero.ie/
Lucy from Mr. Rixon’s 5th class has already submitted her entry to the competition. She drew her hero Meadbh who is a former pupil at Pope John Paul’s and works at SuperValu in Malahide. Meadbh also happens to be the daughter of Lucy’s former SNA at PJP’s - Terry. Please see Lucy’s impressive drawing of Meadbh and her explanation for choosing Meadbh as her hero below. Well Done Lucy! 👏

A huge congratulations to one of our 5th class students Brian Mc Sweeney from Ms. Farrelly’s class who was a recent winner in the John Boyne Short Story Competition! He won a prize for his story “The Windy Night” and his name was published in the Irish Times! Well Done Brian on such a great achievement! ✍️ 📚 ⭐️
Special congratulations must go to two of our PJP students from 3rd class who recently completed a 42km cycle around Malahide Castle! Their target was to generate enough money to sponsor two “Clown Rounds” for the charity Aoife’s Clown Doctors. Thanks to their energy and enthusiasm they have well and truly smashed their initial target and have raised multiples of that amount. Well done boys for your inspiring efforts! We are all so proud of you!
