WELCOME TO MS. DROMGOOLE'S CLASS
Welcome to our class page! I hope everybody had a fun filled summer. We’ve had a busy month settling into our new school and getting to know our new teacher! I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new student Ruby. Ruby is a fantastic addition to our class and all of the boys and girls are delighted to have a great new friend.
Wishing all the boys and girls a very enjoyable and successful year in 2nd class.

UP THE DUBS
GAA
We've been developing our GAA football skills over the past 5 weeks and have had great fun while doing so!
#RedTshirt Day
On the 30th of September we all wore red in support of the refugees trying to flee Syria. Well done to all. We raised 1050 euro for a great cause.
Friendship Week
28th September - 2nd October
This week in second class we are celebrating 'Friendship' by having our 'Friendship week'. On Friday the children enjoyed a shared Golden Time in the hall. It was a lovely, fun-filled ending to our very successful 'Friendship Week'
Paired Reading
We have started paired reading with our friends in 6th class. Here we are reading with our new 'buddies'.
The Boys in Green
We've been supporting the Irish rugby team in the Ruby World Cup. We've been cheering them on singing 'Ireland's Call'.
Leaf Hunt
We've been learning all about leaves - how to identify different types of leaves – oak, ash, maple, sycamore, horse chestnut, lime and holly. We've been learning why leaves change colour in autumn and why they fall from trees in winter. We went on a leaf hunt to gather leaves and then identified which tree they belonged to.
Happy Halloween
Sam Maguire
Dean Rock visited the school today with the Sam Maguire.
Malahide Castle
We've been learning all about the local area in class. As part of our study of the local area we visited Malahide Castle to learn more about the history of the castle and the Talbot family.
