Healthy Habits

Dear Parents,

This is a time of the year when viruses are very active.

We ask for your cooperation to ensure your family wellbeing and to reduce the spread of viral infections (bugs) to other children.

Please have a talk with your children about how infections spread and how we can limit them.

The list below has been prepared in collaboration with General Practitioners and contains golden rules that can reduce spreading of bugs and contribute to a more healthy environment for you and your children.

  • Wash your hands often, especially before you eat
  • Use soap
  • The above are so simple and natural, yet they are most helpful ways when it comes to reducing risk of catching or spreading viral infection
  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue then throw it away, or cough and sneeze into your sleeve.
  • Stay away from people who are sick.
  • Stay at home while you are sick and leave your child at home if they appear unwell or have a fever.
  • Disinfect or clean frequently touched surfaces, and objects such as toys and doorknobs.

Remind your child to always use their wash bag in school - contents should include a hand towel, hand sanitizer & tissues.

Please also remember that a healthy varied diet, good night's sleep and exercise help building a good immune system for your children.

Please also remember that one can remain contagious for as long as 3 days, or sometimes longer even after symptoms are gone.
