This month we have looked at creating our own Acrostic poem. We picked the topic "Autumn" and brainstormed with the class all the words associated with this gorgeous season. All the children used words and sentences to create their own Acrostic poem on Autumn. The poems are hanging up in class for everyone to read and admire.
Each week we are taking great care in learning new words, On Friday the children are displaying fantastic results with their spelling tests. Each day we are doing 10 minutes of "Dear Diary", where the children get to choose a library book. This time is used for each child to relax and enjoy a book of their choice.
The library is full with exciting and hours of endless reading to suit each child. Each evening the children are also encouraged to continue with 20 minutes of reading. Each child is asked to get their reading log signed by a parent.
