Parents' Council
The main focus of the Parent Council's work is assisting the Principal and the Board of Management in providing quality education for the children in the school.
Over the years the Parent Council has worked on many different activities. Some examples are : consultation in development of school policies, assisting with the Green Schools programme and arranging interesting talks for parents.
The Parents’ Council is a very active association who works very closely with the Principal of the School. The Committee is elected annually at the A.G.M. towards the end of September.
Throughout the year the P.C. take responsibility for the Reception for First Communion/Confirmation, the 6th Class Graduation Reception, the publication of the 6th Class Year Book, usually one or two fundraising activities which benefit the children/improve facilities and enhance the education the teachers offer the children in their care. The Parent Council also organise Communion and Confirmation receptions as well as the sixth class graduation ceremonies.
Funds raised by the Parent council are used to purchase books for the school library, games for classroom for use on wet days, supporting the purchase of interactive whiteboards, provision of school jerseys for sports teams and much more.
The Parent Council raises funds through the monthly "No Uniform day" and through different events in the year e.g Art competition, School Concert, calendars and cake sale.
